God Uses Detours: When Delays Are Really Protection

We’ve all been there — the job didn’t come through, the relationship ended, the door slammed shut right when we were ready to walk through it. At first, it feels like rejection. But what if it’s protection?

Sometimes, God allows delays, detours, and even disappointments not to punish us — but to position us. You may be trying to rush forward while God is trying to save you from a disaster you can’t see yet. His “not yet” is often His “not there.”

What looks like a setback might actually be a redirection toward something far better — something that aligns with your purpose, your growth, and His timing.

So the next time a door closes, take a step back and say, “God, I trust You. If it’s not this, then it must be something better.”

Think about a time something didn’t go as planned but turned out for the better. Write it down as a reminder that God’s delays are not denials.
