Who Is Mother Mary?

1. Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ.
Chosen by God, Mary was a young Jewish woman in Nazareth who said yes to becoming the mother of the Messiah (Luke 1:26–38). Through her, the Word became flesh.

2. She was conceived without sin.
Catholic tradition teaches the Immaculate Conception, meaning Mary was preserved from original sin from the moment of her conception, to prepare her as the pure vessel for Christ.

3. She is honored as Queen of Heaven.
In Revelation 12:1, Mary is symbolically described as “a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars.” This reflects her heavenly role.

4. She is full of grace and mercy.
She intercedes for the faithful, offering comfort, maternal love, and spiritual protection — especially in times of sorrow, much like a rainbow after a storm.

5. She appears in many apparitions.
Mary has reportedly appeared in many places, bringing messages of peace, repentance, and divine warning — such as at Fatima, Lourdes, Guadalupe, Garabandal, and Medjugorje. In many of these appearances, miracles occurred, and rainbows or light often accompanied her.

🌈 Why the Rainbow?

  • Biblically, the rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant — a promise that He will never again destroy the earth by flood (Genesis 9:13–17).
  • Spiritually, it’s often linked with hope after devastation, peace after pain, and the presence of Heaven after a long night of grief.
  • When seen in connection with Mary, the rainbow represents her role as a bridge between Heaven and earth — as a mother who comes after the storm to assure us that God still sees us.

🌟 Titles of Mary You Might Hear:

  • Our Lady of Sorrows – She suffers with us.
  • Our Lady of Grace – She pours out grace from Heaven.
  • Star of the Sea – She guides those lost or drifting.
  • Mother of Mercy – She holds those crushed by sin or sorrow.
  • Refuge of Sinners – No one is too far from her maternal care.

🙏 A Simple Prayer to Her:

“Mary, Mother of my soul,
You came after the storm like the rainbow—
not to erase the pain,
but to show me that Heaven still holds me.
Walk with me.
Pray for me.
Remind me that even when the skies break,
God keeps His promises. Amen.”
